Phosphorus
Phosphorus is an essential mineral for human and animal life.
It is fundamental to growth, maintenance, and repair of all
body tissues and is necessary (along with calcium and
magnesium) for proper growth and formation of bones. In
addition, the body utilizes phosphorus in protein synthesis,
carbohydrate metabolism, enzyme activation.
Phosphorus is often found in many water supplies around the
world. There are also large amount of grain/ceral products. Many
think on average we consume too much already.
There is some debate over the side effects of Phosphorus. As
with most elements if consumed as part of a regular diet the
negative effects will be few to none.
