Barium

The health effects of the different barium compounds depend on how
well the compound dissolves in water or in the stomach contents.
Barium compounds that do not dissolve well, such as barium sulfate,
are not generally harmful.

We do not know whether children will be more or less sensitive than
adults to barium toxicity. A study in rats that swallowed barium found
a decrease in newborn body weight; we do not know if a similar effect
would be seen in humans.
Additional Sources of Barium are: Drilling muds, paints, bricks, tiles, brazil nuts, seaweed,
fish.

Additional Effects of Barium on Humans are: -Acute-Paralysis, -Chronic- Hypertension,
cardiac dysrythmia, muscle weakness
