Deficiency:
- Anemia
- Low energy
- Lowered immune system
- Increased absorption of lead and cadmium
- Turns sclera (whites of the eyes) blue
- Increases insulin sensitivity
Excess:
- Iron overload including genetic disorder, hemochromotosis can cause fatigue, arthropathy and heart failure.
- Acute toxicity can be lethal.
